GLFF UARC Bunny Business

Every year, at the Great Lakes Fiber Festival, in an old barn at the fairgrounds there at Wooster, the Angora rabbit breeders of the region do something magical. We display our animals to the highest standard of quality! For two days, we host rabbit shows, and a full barn of Angora themed vendors. Thousands of people walk through the barn to shop and see our rabbits. Then in the evening, we celebrate with banquet and meeting to plan the next year. Other barns at the grounds have amazing fiber vendors, but I think our bunny barn is the best of the best.

Last month, I gifted Lisa R. a pillow that I made based on a find from the King Tut Lord Carter dig site. I asked to borrow the pillow back this week, she hand delivered it to me for the WSG contest at the Great Lakes Fiber Festival.

The pillow won it's very large group of entries, but the best in show went to a lovely silk scarf. The woman who made the winning scarf stopped to speak with me at my booth which was a delight to share our love together.

Later, I showed another vendor the pillow because I used her textile product as backing. She said that the best of show also purchased the yarn through her!

My pillow above, BIS scarf below. Both had leno weave theme designs!
